MeetArts is honoured to be one of the supporting organisations for AI Ethics and Governance as we joined the Singapore Computer Society.
The use of AI in our everyday lives has brought about great benefits for businesses, communities and society at large. Yet its power has also sparked concerns about its biases and potential exploitation by unethical businesses and individuals. Therefore, as the largest infocomm and digital media society in Singapore, SCS is taking the lead to drive advocacy for ethical AI in Singapore with the AI Ethics Movement.
The focal point is the individual who is using or affected by AI. It is not just the technology and methodologies, but the human that should be at the centre of our analysis and decision-making. Around this core are secondary principles and values, such as auditability and robustness, that help us achieve this core set of putative global norms for ethical AI.

Since its launch in October 2020, the industry has shown strong support for the AI Ethics Movement – with over 200 organisations pledging support to date. This number continues to increase steadily. The growing bench of organisations joining the movement augurs well for the development of a healthy, robust and ethical AI ecosystem. SCS will continue to drive this movement – shaping a trustworthy AI landscape, and enabling Singapore’s goal of becoming a global hub for developing and deploying AI solutions.
